Secrets at Malory Towers

Secrets at Malory Towers - Pamela Cox, Enid Blyton Based upon, and continuing Enid Blyton's Malory Towers series. Felicity is Head Girl of Malory Towers! Eager to prove herself, she has her hands full with naughty first formers, and a very mysterious new form-mate who is strangely familiar.

Enid Blyton's Malory Towers series was one that I devoured as a child. So, finding that Pamela Cox had continued this series using Felicity Rivers, the younger sister of Darrell Rivers from the original series, was a delight!

In this installment of her series of books, continuing the school days of Felicity, Felicity is now in the sixth and final form at Malory Towers. Also, like her sister was before her, she is now Head Girl of the school she loves. With this huge responsibility comes trouble, secrets and naughty first formers!

I think, of all Cox's books that I have read thus far, this is my favourite. I find the story very engaging and quite different from the others she has written, though she still writes in a stlye quite close to Blytons.

I loved that the stories told did not just happen among the sixth formers. They were spread evenly among the top form and the lower forms, most especially the first form - who I enjoyed many of the laughs and fun moments with, before returning to the mysteries within the sixth form.

As a whole, Secrets of Malory Towers was a lovely book to read and one I recommend to anyone who enjoys, or remembers enjoying the original Malory Towers series.
