Little Women and its sequel Good Wives have been on my to-be-read list for quite a long period of time. Thanks to the Kindle I was gifted for my birthday in June, I have finally got round to reading these two books.
I first saw the film adaptation with Winona Ryder many years ago and fell in love with the story of the childhood of the March sisters; Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy. However, the book Little Women is a little different from the film, though still enjoyable.
I love how Alcott expanded the love stories of each March sister and how the girls turned to Little Women through what they each had to go through during their childhood. In many ways, each girl had the same childhood, but it had different effects on each of the sisters. In my opinion, how these experiences effected the characters shines through in their own marriages and how they mature and growas adults.
