Wives and Daughters

Wives and Daughters - Pam Morris, Elizabeth Gaskell Wives and Daughters is a lovely book, centering on the romantic and personal lives of Mary "Molly" Gibson and her stepsister, the beautiful, most accomplished Cynthia Kirkpatrick.

I enjoyed this book quite a lot, as it centers on the lifes of two young women, who are both coming to the age to marry. I also enjoyed it as Gaskell shows that living in a small country parish also had its own appeal, and that London, though it had its appeal then, was not always the one and only place where gossips lay.

I truly reccommend this book to lovers of classic litreature sush as Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronteand Thomas Hardy.
